I bought this for a trip I took to Scotland and Ireland with my son almost 2yrs ago. I hate asking people to take pictures - its not awkward for me - most people are just bad at taking pictures. I have since taken this on several trips and though my family makes fun of me, they cannot argue with the quality of pictures I take.

I just received this selfie stick and it's the first one I've owned. It seems to be very sturdy and strong. I also really like the ease of use and the length of the extension. I have the 50" version.
Just make sure that you actually dislodge the remote control in order to pair it with your phone because it has an on/off switch on the underside. I didn't see any info regarding this on here or in the manual, so it took me a few minutes to figure it out since it is my first stick as I mentioned. I have another camera remote control that came with a tripod and it doesn't have a switch, it just sleeps when not in use. I hope this helps other first time users. The remote paired easily and very fast for me and it works great.
I highly recommend this to others.
